Egg Watch

Soooo...mother nature hates me and insists on forcing her "patience" on me. She and the cosmic donut are in cahoots. We are basically just waiting for the quail to hatch. A few of them have cracks in their shells and they are wobbling as though they just downed a fifth of Jack.

It's day 24, hopefully they will be coming out soon.

I check them every 10 minutes or so...because I know that helps since they will know how impatient I am being.

What I can tell you is that I have learned a valuable lesson in all of this and my vegetables. Mother nature sure does like to take her sweet ass time. I don't. I am a genuine product of the instant gratification generation...and I was quite proud of it until this having to wait has caused me to rip the head off of anyone that comes within spitting distance of me.

Obviously, I have to work on this.

Yeah...Me!

I finally have a website published!! It's my first one, so it's probably not considered the most technologically advanced. But it's a start. I already have some ideas of where I would like to go with it from here. Anyway...check it out...Chisholm Trail Winery...and while you are there, you should find a place to buy their wine if you can. It's GOOD!!! Have I said that before?

Quail Eggs!!

We have quail eggs! We went and picked them from a local quail farmer. I am so scared excited!! We got them home and marked them so that we can turn them (since the egg turner I have is too big for quail eggs - live and learn). So in about 23 days we will either have cute little quail chicks...or some seriously hard boiled eggs! Let's hope for the former...

Here we have them laid in the incubator...

And now they are all tucked in and getting warmer...

The Princess and the Pea

Shasti...she really isn't a princess...she is a queen. She owns this house...she just let's us pay the mortgage. We are so lucky...

A little secret about her...she loves to sleep on soft, fluffy things. Here she has found the perfect nesting place for her royal hiney...a stack of quilts, pillows and meditation pillows. She merely looked up long enough to grace me with a photo op. How kind of her...let us give thanks.

Whinos

Last weekend we visited our friends that own a winery in Fredricksburg. I have been doing some website work for them. So we went out to get liquored up show her the site and visit.

We had a lot of wine fun.

We discussed the site, joked, and drank.

Then we came home...with a couple cases of wine. Man...she makes some goooood wine! I don't drink...but I could bathe in her wine...oh yeah...it's that good!
